Your first acupuncture session: what to expect

Before you enter the treatment room

Many people arrive at Yang with a mix of curiosity and uncertainty. The most common question is not "how much does it cost" or "how long does it take", but simply: "will it hurt?"

The honest answer is that the needles we use are finer than a strand of hair, sterile, and single-use. Most people feel a light tingling, warmth, or simply nothing at all.

The initial conversation

Before any technique, Haoran takes time to listen. He will ask about your main reason for coming, but also about your sleep, digestion, stress level, and general emotional state.

This is not bureaucracy. It is how Traditional Chinese Medicine understands the body: as a connected system, where neck pain may relate to rest quality, and fatigue rarely has only one cause.

The treatment

Once Haoran has a clear picture of your current state, he will choose the most suitable combination of techniques for that moment: acupuncture, Tuina, moxa, cupping, or a combination.

The rest

Perhaps the least expected part: after the needles are placed, you rest quietly for around 20 minutes. Many people fall asleep. This is part of the treatment, not an extra.

After the session

We will give you personalised recommendations around rest, hydration, posture, or simple habits. If your case needs continuity, we will talk about the rhythm of care.

You do not need to decide everything immediately. Each process is individual, and we respect your pace.
